Places, events, and people to visit in our 2010 sail from Rimouski to the top of Labrador.

  • Mingan Archipelago National Park: beautiful scattering of some thirty limestone islands and more than 1000 granitic islets and reefs
  • Harrington Harbour
  • Blanc Sablanc, terminus of coastal boat from sept Iles and road North to Cartwright and Goose Bay. Ferry two to three times a day to NewFoundland.
  • Gros Morne National Park: Rugged beauty and varied geography. UNESCO World Heritage Site amid Newfoundland’s wild natural beauty.
  • Forteau
  • L’ Ance aux Meadows: Only authenticated Viking settlement in North America, St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Norstead: Viking Living History ATTRACTION: L’Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland, Canada
  • Red Bay: Basque whaling site
  • Battle Harbour; former capital of Labrador, living museum town of a way of life long gone.
  • Cartwright. the end of the road. No road transport North of here.
  • Black Tickle
  • Makovik
  • Postville
  • Hopedale
  • Natuashish
  • Nain, northernmost community in Labrador.  No scheduled air or ferry traffic North of here.
  • Hebron Mission: former Moravian’s mission buildings
  • Parks Canada, base camp, St. John’s, Saglek Fiord. Get an introduction to the park here.
  • Torngat Mountains National ParkThe spectacular wilderness of this National Park comprises 9,700 km2 of the Northern Labrador Mountains natural region.
  • MacLean Straight; separates Labrador Sea and Ungava Bay, 2 miles long and narrow.
  • Cape Chidley,  Nunavut.
